Blake Ian is a New York singer/songwriter who currently has 3 albums available. He has toured and opened for Donovan, Duncan Sheik, Eric Burdon and The Animals, Leon Russell, Jeffrey Gaines and Christopher Cross. His songs have been in feature films and he performs in the most well known clubs in Manhattan (The Bitter End, Sin-e, Pianos, Rockwood Music Hall) as well as throughout the country (Eddie''s Attic GA, The Stage on Broadway Nashville, Blind Melon San Diego.. and others)
Starting out as a most young teens in the early 90''s Blake was inspired and directed into music by Seattle''s swarm of super successes like Nirvana and Pearl Jam. However his true passion for songwriting and lyrical content came into full bloom when he discovered the legends who became his teachers and influences. At the top of this list of great mentors is the 60''s songwriting icon Bob Dylan. Followed by artists such as Neil Young, Lou Reed, David Bowie, Tom Petty and more recent successes REM, Elliott Smith, Lou Barlow and Beck.
Blake Ian has recieved acclaim for his latest album Alchemist which is now available at major online retailers and is currently becoming available at all digital download stores.. The Album is an homage to what Blake described in an interview as "A book that saved my life".. .
