Back again for 6th time. With no intentions of slowing down, the self proclaimed Jay-Z, Scarface and Ice Cube of the D.C. area is back again with "The B.U.D. (Best Unsigned in D.C.)." He proves, once again, that Rap/Hip-Hop is not a game of quantity (age) but it''s a game of quality. "Folks are continuing to download my music and after my previous work ''I Got Work For You'' became my highest selling CD, I feel that I''m in my prime." The B.U.D. (Best Unsigned in D.C.) picks up where ''I Got Work For You'' left off. It starts with his profession of the Old School being the elite age group with anthems "Old School Party" and "SuperFly (Ode to the 70s)" which has a funk-based and inspired track. Then he SALUT(e)''s his favorite genre NeoSoul with the single "NeoVerbal (Dreams of NeoSoul)" which is a smooth sounding NeoSoul track, next "You Can Get It", "I''m A Rebel", and "Looking Fly," Verbal shows his iconoclastic swagger as a person and artist. He reins supreme in being a player in songs "1-for-2 Special" and "Coming Wit'' Me." He tones it down for his significant other in "My 1 Spot", then remixes "Old School Party (remix)" which has added drums and a fresh intro. Finally, he gives a shout out to the area that raised and molded him in "Welcome to D.C.", which is a percussion-laced, go-go inspired, slow-mid tempo track. You can bottle Verbal up and sell him because just like fine wine, he gets better wit'' time.
