ELROY is:

Jesse LaMonaca (vocals, guitar)
Keith Wiener (guitar)
Joe Savarese (bass)
Tim Agushi (drums)

ELROY emerged in late 2001, although the band''s roots can be traced back a year further, when Keith and Jesse met through mutual friends at a beach house on the Jersey shore and soon began playing acoustic shows around NY and NJ. Later that year, after a chance meeting between Jesse and Tim, the three began writing and evolving into a band. They placed an ad in the Village Voice looking for a bass player, and after three auditions, they discovered Joe Bates and the lineup was complete.

ELROY hit the stage in March 2002 and several months later recorded their first 4 track EP. They played numerous shows around NY and NJ at venues such as The Bitter End, Continental, Lion''s Den, Arlene Grocery, Piano''s, ACME Underground, Kenny''s Castaways, Knowlton Riverfest and Hoboken''s Whiskey Bar. The band''s catchy, emotive songs and strong live performances resulted in a loyal and enthusuastic following, and were rewarded with a first place finish in the July 2002 Battle Of The Bands competition at Hoboken''s Whiskey Bar.

In 2004, ELROY released their second EP,"The Whole Day," recorded at Avatar Studios in NYC. The response was overwhelmingly positive, including a stellar review from https://www.tradebit.com:

"Elroy''s second EP from the Avatar studio is here and despite being a little unknown band outside their home of New York they will soon be filling our radio waves in the same way as fellow New Yorkers The Strokes and Scissor Sistors have done. Not as stylish, not as relevant and lacking the retro cool. But thank the Lord our God for that. Their angst ridden alternative rock is easy on the earlobes and is bound to have major labels tripping over themselves to sign them..."

In 2006, ELROY was stuck on pause for a while, and Joe Bates, the original bass player, left the band to pursue other interests. Jesse, Keith and Tim grew restless and craved a new start for ELROY and in early 2007, Joe Savarese took over on bass. The time away and the new blood in the band gave ELROY a renewed energy and a new life to their sound.

Sadly, it did not last. Jesse''s decision to move to Sweden in May 2007 put an end to the promising new lineup. However, Tim, Keith and Joe traveled to Scandinavia to join Jesse for one last show, and ELROY went out in style, playing 2 nights at a summer festival, Alvdansen, in July, 2007 in Jarvso, Sweden.

Jesse put together a new band in Sweden, and in no time was showing up in the local papers, on the regional radio, and playing live, including Bollnasfestivalen 2007 and several solo shows. Jesse will be recording during the long and dark Swedish winter and hopes to have a new album ready for Spring 2008.

Tim, Keith and Joe decided to keep on trucking, and found a talented new singer named Tarek. Together with Tarek, they developed a fresh and harder sound, wrote an entirely new batch of songs, and began playing live in NYC in October 2007 under the name CUT SLIP. They hope to record sometime in early 2008.

ELROY wishes to thank everyone that continues to show them love and support, and everyone that they have had the pleasure of sharing their music with.
