Details:
The first two releases from the Nashville based singer/songwriter, Freddy Mullins, Bring Me Blue – The Demos and Everything In Between solidified Mullins as an exceptional, albeit restless, singer/songwriter. His wide range of influences fueled his music to burst with variation and limitless direction. While his efforts on these albums worked and were critically a success, it seemed as though we never got to see the clear musical style that is Freddy Mullins. It possibly wasn’t him so much avoiding it, but simply not realizing it fully....until now.

Broken White Lines, the new 10 track album from Freddy Mullins, is his most focused cohesive musical statement to date. As with his other albums, he once again wrote, performed, and produced the album entirely on his own. This new batch of material displays him putting to use a variety of wondrous subtle sonic touches that mark unbelievable artistic growth and unraveling unexplored lyrical territory while staying faithful to his trademark brand of unflinching folk-rock introspection. Broken, as the title suggests, is a travelogue of sorts, speeding through retrospective memories of loves, losses, the places, and people that have brought him to the present. It is the equivalent of a tightly woven patchwork quilt, overflowing with empathy, warmth, nostalgia, and a yearning to reclaim what time has taken. The album opens with its title track, “Broken White Lines”, an acoustic instrumental that beautifully sets the stage for the next two songs, “Thin Ice Ground” and “She”. These stunning tracks explore lost and impossible loves and show off a progression in Mullins’ writing, vocals, instrumentation, and complete song production ability more than any previously released by him. Additional stand out songs on the album are the Neil Young inspired “Colors” which clearly shows the rocking side of Mullins and the bittersweet “These Things Matter”, where the calming picking of acoustic guitars is blanketed within the shimmer of a brilliant electric guitar melody, coloring Mullins’ one of a kind voice wonderfully.

Freddy Mullins’ Broken White Lines is a triumphant victory for him and the listener alike. In his second full length album we see Mullins at his best with a sharp focus and an acceptance, and subsequent wonderful deliverance, of his musical style. The result? An album that is as wonderfully hypnotic as the highway''s broken white lines whizzing past.
