âRobin Avery delivers a smash hitâ¦slick, crisp production, fresh and cool vocalsâ¦Robinâs sultry voice lends itself effortlessly to her lyrics about loving, living, and thriving.â âSandy Shore, https://www.tradebit.com Review 5/1/05
âWith this third recording titled The Way You Hold Me, her warm, romantic vocals are complemented by the sounds of contemporary jazz greats who have performed with such major talents as David Sanborn, Aretha Franklin, and Weather Report. These incredibly talented musicians add another dimension to Robin Avery's captivating vocals, which are a brilliant fusion of R&B and pop jazzâ. -Paula Edelstein, https://www.tradebit.com Review 7/25/05
âJust this afternoon while I auditioned a growing stock of new releases, I popped in Robin Avery f/Warren Hillâs âDriveâ (Green Eyes Music). Averyâs a new artist to me â a damned good one, too! â¦â¦â¦Carol Archer- Radio & Records

In her second full-length CD, and her label debut for OarFin, smooth jazz recording artist, singer/songwriter Robin Avery offers her captivating fusion of R&B/Pop, with lyrical reflections on life and love. The debut single, Drive, features top contemporary jazz saxophonist Warren Hill and was among the âmost addedâ tracks at smooth jazz radio upon its release,

Hailing from South Florida, Robin, mother of three children, and partner in life, love and music with her producer, keyboardist Paul Banman, is a rare artist, whose music and words offer images of what we want our lives to be, and who we aspire to become. Her songs cover the joys and pangs of men and woman who are trying to connect, separate, or find their own meanings.

The track Kiss Me In The Rain is a warm, melodic call to live fully and spontaneously and to treasure laughter and love in each moment. The Caribbean influenced What Was On Your Mind speaks of the secrets partners keep and the realities they deny to maintain relatedness with the other. This song powerfully portrays both longing to know those secret thoughts and the fear of what they might be. Two songs very close to Robinâs heart are Under The Same Sky which was so inspired by her youngest son that she gave him a co-writer credit. That Makes All The Difference is a song of healing past family wounds in the presence of a loving, accepting and caring partner.

The recording of The Way You Hold Me was a labor of love and features an incredibly talented group of musicians who have toured and performed with some of the top recording artists in music. They include Leo Brooks (Lauren Hill)-bass; Robert Thomas, Jr. (Weather Report)âpercussion; Jonathan Joseph (David Sanborn)-drums; David Cabrera (Ricky Martin)-guitar and Clarence Charles (Barry White, Aretha Franklin)âguitar. The renowned Roger Nichols (Steely Dan) was the mastering engineer.

Summer 2005 Robin and the band made a highly successful trip to Reno, NV. at the invitation of radio station KJZS with Robin doing an on-air interview and performing for their weekly sponsored smooth jazz event at Scruples Bar And Grill, and later that evening playing for an enthusiastic audience at EJ's Jazz Club in Reno. The Robin Avery Trio also had the privilege to perform this summer in Columbus, OH., Clearwater and Tampa, FL. in support of the new album.

Since she started recording and performing, Robin has become a regular performer on the jazz scene and a treasure in South Florida. Look for her to become a ânational treasureâ with the release of The Way You Hold Me.

Robin Avery performed at SunFest 2006, the premier annual South Florida music festival, Friday evening, May 5, 5:45 â 7:00 PM. Robin and her band opened for internationally acclaimed pianist/singer Bruce Hornsby. Together with her band, Robin gave an exciting and entertaining show featuring original music from her CD as well as putting her spin on popular standards. In the words of Ric Blake, Vice Chair of the SunFest Committee ââ¦I did get to catch your show, and it
was even better than expected!!â

The band featured Paul Banman on keyboards, Mitch Farber guitar, AntOnBass, Johnny James, AKA Dr. J on saxophone, Kiela Harvey background vocals, and Mike Harvey drums.
