Get to know Cody:
Hometown: Midland, TX (Greenwood)
Cody started his music career while in high school with a garage band, then moved into the coffee shop scene and acoustic shows at house parties and small bars. A defining moment was when Cody and a few of his friends sang a very moving song during graduation for a schoolmate that was killed just days before. This is when Cody discovered just how much people can be affected by a song and has been writing ever since.

What’s being said:
“Cody Hughes Davidson and his band have a ‘drive it home’ beat and are paying their dues now by making music and turning more than a few heads and ears toward their direction. The band dynamic works very well, all provide a well-timed experience for Cody’s smoky voiced vocals bringing aloud their brand of Texas Country” (Texas Music Times 2006).
“I have heard Cody Hughes Davidson play one other time out here in our West Texas isolation and I’m quickly becoming a fan. Cody’s smoky voice, in addition to the band’s musical blend, makes for a good set. These guys look out for each other, while still pushing everyone to do his best. Their original songs are powerful, with “Just the Way I Am” and “Travelin’ Man” capturing my attention. Cody Hughes Davidson is strong with a growing group of fans out here in the wind and dust, including me, and their sound is bound to get even better and more diversified.
Labels and titles don’t make or break a band or artist in West Texas, it’s the music that counts out here. Opening bands develop over time, eventually moving into the headline spot of carrying a night and I think we’re pretty lucky to see and hear some of the best as the show circuits expand to include more venues like the Hog Pit.” (Texas Music Times, 2006)
Album “Risky Game” was produced by Keith Davis at 5am Studio in Austin, Texas.
