Hip hop artist Inkwell the Biologic is on a mission with his solo debut, "Better or Different". Released on Harrisburg, Pennsylvania''s indie imprint STLP, the album has been a two year continual process resulting from previous unreleased efforts. The album has been picked apart, and pieced back together one song at a time giving the listener a well balanced sound that is often forgotten on current albums being released in hip hop.
The album features a tight knit group of producers ranging from Central Pennsylvania to ()Finland. Steeba Gees (Finland), Gard (Harrisburg, PA), Anno Domini Beats (Nottingham, UK), JaeDiamondz (Harrisburg, PA) all contribute sonic backdrops to the album. Inkwell handles production duties as well on, "Psyrens," a tale of two friends and their experiences in life and hip hop culture together. WindchILL of Inkwell''s group, Artists Over Industry, shows up to lend efforts on the thumping , " Threads". Fellow PA native Phynite rhythmically debates with Inkwell over haunting vocal samples on "god vs. God". Manchester, New Hampshire affiliate El*A*Kwents and Inkwell challenge the listener to start seeing life for what it really is on the AD Beats produced, "Forbidden Fruit".
With it being his first solo effort, Inkwell took extra care in the creation of "Better or Different," overseeing all aspects of the project with a helping hand from fellow STLP label mate Gard. From mix down to graphic design, Inkwell sewed the album together by the seams. Creative freedom is never sacrificed on "Better or Different" while simply asking people to open their eyes and see the true beauty in life. Inkwell the Biologic''s "Better or Different" is an album that will hit the Hip Hop purists'' eardrums with head nodding beats and intriguing lyrics for the thinking man. If 2008 is to be a year of change, Inkwell''s "Better or Different " is the seed planted on life''s lawn and will continue to grow and remain relevant for years to come.
