Joshua Thompson has expressed his passion for music since he was a child. From singing in the choir, to playing the drums and piano, to finding his love for the saxophone, Joshua Thompson has been a continuous vessel for the Lord. And it is because of this that he always keeps the Lord first in his life. He acknowledges him as the Great Musician, and gives him all the honor and glory for the many blessings that he has bestowed upon him. Not only is Joshua a musician, but he is a singer and composer. Most would think that Joshua is a grown man, but for those who know him exceptionally well, they will tell you that he is a 17 year old musician who is one of the most sought out musicians in the Antelope Valley and one of the most dedicated members of the Quartz Hill High School Marching Band. It is through this program that Joshua has found closure, inspiration, and discipline. This past year Joshua Thompson served as the Assistant Drum Major and was honored as the top jazz musician of his graduating class. And it is through gospel music that Joshua has strengthened his relationship with the Lord and found his true calling. Joshua has shared the stage with many local jazz groups and many great musicians most of which he recognizes as his heroes and inspirations. Joshua also has his own jazz group by the name of "N The Groove" who he travels and plays with. Some of these members are featured on his current album "In The Spirit". He is also credited by his church leaders, friends, family, teachers, and fellow musicians. Joshua Thompson has a love for jazz and gospel msuic that he knows can never be seperated. His album "In the Spirit" is a audible and vsual symbol of not only his passion for music, but the impact that God has had on his young life, and the connection that he establishes with God every time he picks up his horn. As he prepares to attend Cal State University Northridge in the fall, Joshua hopes to pursue a career as a professional musician and make his name known in the industry. He also hopes to futher his walk with God as a youth minister in his church and continue sharing his love for music with the world.
