In this short easy sonata for violin and harpsichord in A-maj. written in a typically Italianate idiom we find much to praise in this work from the Swedish composer Agrell. A master of both the violin and the harpsichord, Agrell is best remembered as one of the leading proponents of the symphonic form. His orchestral and chamber works considered together represents a small but significant milestone in the development of the galant style in the first half of the 18C.
