Details:
The Danish-Swiss Electro Rock Band Fanoe are back after releasing their debut album Empire Dirt in 2005. The new album Down to Heaven is, as the title suggests, rather contradicting and has as a central theme the collapse and perversion of our sterile and impersonal consumer society. Fanoe combine analogical and electronic elements with rock and dirt in a way that makes it hard to cupboardise. The complexity of the arranged songs are being drilled into the system after hearing them repeatedly. There they stay for good. It isn’t muzak and you can be damn sure it will never be.
Genuine, independent and underground are the buzzwords behind the new album of Fanoe. The album was recorded and mixed in a home studio. Even the artwork of the CD Digipacs was designed by the lead singer of the band. The artwork was chosen to create a harmonious entity. While having the album mastered by Enrico Mercaldi of Timetools Studio (Placebo, Yello, Depeche Mode, Moby…) the focus was on tubetechnique to remain true to the whole concept.
Past/Future: with their debut album Empire Dirt the band managed to call attention to themselves in the international press. They managed to satisfy their audience as the opening band of The Sisters of Mercy and at the Wave Gothic gathering in Leipzig. With their new album as a kickoff, the new Video “I Am” and a new live set Fanoe will surely attract interest in the near future…
