Friends of Man is a concept recording artist, the creative work of Australian musician/producer, Dean Ranel. Dean is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, performer, engineer, visual artist and DJ/electronic music artist who has composed, engineered and produced music for bands, theater, orchestra, ensembles, television and radio.
Forged in 2002 as an ongoing series of recordings, Ranels idea of a concept recording artist evolved into a rock and roll touring band and by 2004 was showcasing the songs off the first Friends of Man release,''Song For Humans''.
Friends of Man was the only Australian artist to be nominated 3 times in the 2006 Music Oz Award as well as 2 top 20 nominations for best alternative music and music video.
In 2007 the song ''It''s the Way'', was rewritten for Hutchison 3G Australia as ''3 is The Way'' and performed for their national leadership conference.
