âOf Substance Of Shadowsâ is my second full length album released in January of 2008. I wrote, recorded, played on, and produced all the tracks at my home studio in Queens, New York City over the last two years.

The songs reflect my life here in New York (Locust St. & East River Blues), my love (I Am Nothingâ¦, Morning Became Electric & Thatâs Love), my struggles inside and out (Ainât Gonna Break Me Down, Shooting at the Stars, & Hanginâ on the Line), the state of the union (Guilty by Association) and my attempt at a two minute pop song (Fatal Kiss).

My influences come from many musicians and writers. As a songwriter, artists like Bob Dylan, Hank Williams and The Beatles are the most important. I have learned a lot from the songwriters of the 50âs and 60âs like Pomus/Shuman, Leiber/Stoller, Sam Cooke, Ray Davies, Lou Reed, along with the countless others who crafted the songs which are now classics. I have also had a great deal of influence from the early pioneers of music labels like Sun, Stax, Fame, Atlantic, Motown and the mad genius of Phil Spector.

As a Singer Elvis Presley has always been my favorite. His range of styles from rock to country to gospel is unmatched. As a Guitar player Syd Barrett, Jeff Beck (Yardbirds),Mike Bloomfield, Steve Cropper and James Burton, to name a few, have been very important to me.
Every song I write and record has all of these artists, writers, musicians and record labels wrapped in them and I hope it comes through in the music and in that creating something completely new. Enjoy.
