Commanding, passionate and power-driven best describes what female-fronted Era for a Moment brings to the masses. Described as a stronger Evanescence with the grit of Sevendust, Era for a Moment truly began in January 2002, the current line-up (consisting of Shelby Carcio on lead vocals, Tim D''Agostino on guitar, Matt Perry on guitar and Johhny DeRienzo on drums) took final shape. In May of 2002, they released a 3-song demo with engineer/producer John Ellis (Godsmack, Tribe of Judah, American Hi-Fi) and quickly starting focusing on a full length. But then they had an unplanned turn of events. Guitarist Tim D''Agostino who was in the army, got the call and had to head to Iraq for over a year. The band kept in contact with him as best they could, got a fill-in-turned-permanent 2nd guitar player (Matt Perry), and kept pushing along. They wanted to wait for Tim''s return, however long it took, before they hit the studio. They kept writing, as did Tim on an acoustic guitar with a tiny mp3 recorder he used in the desert as they traded ideas for the band to work with.
Finally Tim got home safely last spring and the band got back to work, harder than ever, more grateful than ever, and produced an incredible 9-song cd with producer Jim Foster (Nullset, Waltham). With their new CD "Realize" released, their song "The Fire" has already shot up the charts on https://www.tradebit.com, being in the top 10 of Hard Rock for 8 weeks and claiming such spots as Best Female Vocals for 10 weeks, as well as their song "Calling You" reaching the ..7 all-time spot for female vocals. The release establishes a new benchmark for hard rock with mainstream appeal, a level to which others will be hard pressed to attain.
