Details:
The Slipshod Swingers were born from The Whopper Strategies, an unreleased novel by writer and artist, Pirooz Kalayeh. Now a group of live musicians, they hold to the simple ideals of community, musicianship, and living.
"Woes and Hail Mary''s" - the debut release from Slipshod - is a collection of improvised love songs that intermingle 50''s doo wap and hip hop sensibilities. It was recorded in Los Angeles straight to a small Lo-Fi recording system.
Slipshod''s sophomore effort, Orange Lamborghini, is a sonic landscape of heavy backbeats, discovery, and socio-political ruminations. A mixture of professional and Lo-Fi recordings, it traces an evening drive in Los Angeles - down the 101 and onto Hollywood Boulevard.
Transistor Radio, the latest record from the Swingers, was recorded in Seoul, Korea. It definitely has elements of K-Pop and other Korean pop sensibilities, interlaced with a healthy dose of hip hop, punk, and classic rock. A record you can dance to or impress upon others, Transistor Radio will have you on speed dial to a great time.
