Details:
Beginning to See the Light - this Cd is the 4th and most recent recording by True North Brass. the inspiration for the Cd came from a gratitude and desire to pay hommage to the stellar brass players and composers/ arrangers that have set a tradition in Canada and passed on a legacy of excellence. Canada''s brass players are unique in their combined influence of American, British and French approached to brass playing. On this Cd we are fortunate enough to not only celebrate , but also perform with, one of the world''s great jazz artists, Guido Basso. Guido joins us for 3 tunes that are not only beautiful but showcase his "channelled" jazz solos - artistically effortless. We also celebrate Canada''s grandfather of brass writing - Howard Cable in his quintet version of MacIntyre Ranch. Glenn Gould is paid hommage to with Scott Irvine''s arrangement of Bach''s Aria from the Goldberg Variations. This list goes on...this CD was a delight to conceive and a joy to manifest. Enjoy!
