Hi I am an ex Guitar player from many bands over the years And I fully understand the difficulty regarding learning how to play the guitar and of course trying to make a song sound like a song I know this coz ive been there before , exactly where you are now. The books and computer programs are not working Far too technical and you find it so hard to understand,, Too much information all at once

Well Firstly! Dont go out and buy a really expensive guitar Coz it eventually ends up in the corner of the front room collecting dust And you are really frustrated that you cant play it.,What a waste of money You think the dearer it is, the better it would be

NO, Buy a very cheap acoustic guitar first (the type with a hole in the middle) I say this Because, you will become so frustrated at times you could end up throwing it across the room pretty often. And besides if you can make a cheap guitar sound good then once you know what your doing you will appreciate a much more expensive guitar with the quality of sound and the general feel of her

To start with ,, before putting any fingers on the strings The very first thing to do is get the guitar in tune It wouldnt matter if you are putting your fingers in the right place on the strings Coz if your guitar is all out of tune It would still sound like crap (trust me) And of course you would just give up in the end get all fed up and disappointed The next thing you do will be to move on to your next fad / idea
