Details:
Harry Arader is a "Neo-Yippie" guitarist and songwriter living in the great city of Chicago Illinois. Harry’s songwriting and performing style is Roots Rock and Blues. His lyrics are purposely provocative and appeal to the intellect through humor and whimsy.

In “Petroglyph”, he pays tribute his “rock idols” in the guitar pantheon by referencing their styles of playing and songwriting, and by penning songs that proudly emulate the political / social protest music of bands like Jefferson Airplane, CSN&Y, Credence Clearwater Revival, The Mothers of Invention, The Byrds, The Who and many others. In this spirit, "Petroglyph" comes in a completely eco-friendly package that utilizes no plastic except the disc itself.

Harry began his musical career in and around NYC in the late 60s and early 70s. In early days he played rhythm guitar and sang lead vocals for several garage and college bands. He wrote and performed original music with his sister Ann during that time and the two of them recorded a 45rpm of his original song “Lazy Day” in 1971. He also wrote original music for several musical theatrical productions. In the mid 70s, he played small clubs in Italy, Spain and Greece (and part of him wishes he never left!).

Throughout the 25 year long winter of his day jobs in the business world, Harry has continually sought the warmth and sunlight of music and has kept his chops alive by playing with fellow enthusiasts while performing at “open mike” nights in the Chicago area. In the late 80s and early 90s he was the lyricist, lead singer and rhythm guitar player for “The Planing Gybes” – a Chicago band of windsurfing enthusiasts that celebrated their obsession for boardsailing with comic songs about the sport.

“Aging hippies, unite! we have nothing to lose but our chain(store credit cards)! Rock on!!!”
