ABOUT THE BAND
August 2005. Saint Louis, Missouri. Four freshman from across the Midwest found each other living in the same dorm at Webster University and become close friends. After two years of cheap talk about getting a band together, two years of dispute over musical genre and style, their words finally became a reality. In the fall of 2007, Drew Dillman, Patrick Gable, Jason Rich, and Carson Ritz ventured out on their latest of several musical journeys: Red Card Royale. A unique attempt at blending each member''s favorite genre of music--from blues to classic rock to death metal and even hip hop--the band creates a fresh, genuine groove that comes naturally to their fingers and their ears. Not only does the band write all its music and lyrics, but it produces as well. Carson Ritz, an audio production major at Webster, records, mixes, and masters all of the band''s work from the comfort of their own apartment, and the band offers valuable input during the process. In the end, Red Card Royale manages to achieve a raw, uncut, grunginess falling somewhere between The Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Doors, just two of the many influences. Fans of all ages and musical backgrounds can appreciate the current rock sound fused with the classic rock feel. Old or young, they consistently rave about the RCR''s natural chemistry, energy, and emotion--on speakers and on stage. “These guys are so much fun!” comments a professor at Webster University. “Great stage presence, strong musicianship, and a wide variety of material--awesome show!” With their debut album release show drawing a diverse group of fans from all over the Midwest to Webster University, Red Card Royale has no reason to stop. The band plans to continue fusing the old and the new, creating fresh music and ultimately reviving the dying art of rock and roll.
