We are ambient beings of auditory energy from the planet Abraxas. More specifically, we are symbiotic aliens from outer space taking residence inside of human hosts. Our Abraxic symbiotic designations are Vegasaint and DJ Divine. The names of our corresponding human hosts are Casey Allen and Keith Porter. We share these earthly bodies with our homosapien counterparts in accordance with our orders to infiltrate and reinvent the music industry here on this planet, which your race has designated Earth. With one foot in his hometown of Seattle, the other in his adopted home of San Diego, Vegasaint is hard at work disproving myths, inspiring innovation, and resurrecting a lost breed of emcee. Disappointed by the materialization of hip-hop, as well as the monopoly held by only marginally talented artists, Vegasaint is hoping to make a name for himself as a defibrillator to the heart of the music industry. Elephants Never Forget will resuscitate creativity and reflection in both artists and fans alike. Backed by longtime collaborative partner/producer DJ Divine, Vegasaint combines both comedic and critical social commentary together with epic lyrical storytelling to ensure Elephants will, indeed, not be forgotten.
/Subj: Background and Foreshadow
Vegasaint has a unique ability to view the world through eyes not always his own, and to transform these visions into colorful and adventurous narratives. A former Sergeant in the US Marines, Vegasaint often draws influence from his time and experiences overseas. After his honorable discharge from military service, he returned home to Seattle. His stay in the Northwest was short, however, and after only a year he moved to San Diego, where DJ Divine has called home since their highschool days. Now reunited with his musical muse, he is enrolled in college and pursuing a degree in music and recording arts.
Current projects include the formation and debut of Th!nk Tank Coalition—a collaborative effort spearheaded by Vegasaint and DJ Divine, featuring a wide variety of artists from around the country. T.T.C. is currently in the studio finishing up a mixtape utilizing both original and industry standard production. Grey Matter, a mixtape showcasing Vegasaint and fellow Th!nk Tank lyricist Gloves, is near completion also. Both mixtapes are for promotional use only, and will be made available for free download. Writing and recording for Giraffes Finish First, the followup to Elephants Never Forget, is underway as well.
