Details:
Sweden’s Electric Earth, who is topical with their second fullength-CD “Vol II – Words Unspoken” (Mausoleum Records), has just released the limited edition CD-EP “Selling Souls”.
Electric Earth came up with the idea to release an EP a couple of months after Draken joined the band as their new drummer – autumn 2006. Instead of letting the compulsory wait for all the details regarding the release of “Vol II – Words Unspoken” to be sorted out affect them negatively they decided to do something creative, productive and fun of the time at hand. The recording, which took place in Studio Deadline together with Impious mastermind Valle Adzic, was a perfect way to welcome Draken in the band and to introduce him to the fans.
“Selling Souls” offers two newly recorded, none album, tracks, “Bring On The Storm” and “Unicorn”, and two covers from two of the bands that has been Electric Earth’s main influences. To make the record even more interesting they asked two of Sweden’s biggest profiles within the metal/hard rock genre to help them out. Mattias “Ia” Eklundh from Freak Kitchen plays a blinding solo on Kiss’ “I Want You”, which at the moment is number one on Kiss Army Sweden’s download list, while Zak Tell from Clawfinger leaves his personal mark on Led Zeppelin’s “Heartbreaker”.
