MP3 Mark Stafford - The Power of Keys
Total improv. Right off the cuff, hard driving synthesizer madness and soft piano sadness. A blend of traditional analog Emerson,Lake and Palmer "ish" keyboard sounds, with an ocassional dash of honky tonk blues piano.

Details:
Mark Stafford presents his first release, as an improvisational “exploration of the modern keyboard.” Although many of the older vintage keyboards are gone, they are not forgotten.
Here, the sounds of those “synthesizer days gone by,” are joined together with everything from the sadness of a piano, to the madness of the manipulated synthesizer. There’s even a humorous look at the pipe organ (“ It’s a Dracula Thing’’), meeting the electronic world.
This is quite a change from a “honky tonk” piano player.
Stafford: “After ten years of playing in country bands on the road, I felt it was time to do my own stuff. While I have (and always will) love the piano, I have a hard time pulling myself away from those 1970’s sounds, like the Moog, Arp, Clav, and Wurlitzer. I used to go watch a great keyboard player in Orlando (Jerry Schaeffer) who was a master of those sounds, and he taught me a lot about them. He dubbed me the “keyboardologist,” which kind of stuck with me.”
