ROCK: Post-Rock/Experimental, ELECTRONIC: Electronica
Once in a while, there comes along an album that changes the way you think about music. That makes you realize the kind of impact it is capable of making in your life. This may or may not be it.
But, as the band would say, Itâs Ok, itâs all good!
Pentagramâs newest album Itâs Ok, Itâs All Good is finally here. In a way, itâs back to the basics. Big, strong rock songs, with messages, with meaning. In another way, itâs radical to a point that it should once again redefine what Pentagram stands for.
A pretty much unique, strongly individual blend of rock and electronica, the band moves forward along the edgy vector defined by their second album âUpâ, while once again discovering a certain raw straight-forwardness one last saw in their first album âWe Are Not Listeningâ.
âItâs OK, Itâs All Goodâ is about simple songs, produced to within an inch of their lives. Itâs scary, in a primal sort of way. Itâs full of songs that get stuck in your head, songs that you can sing along to. The songs are meaningful, but youâre left to your own devices to find that meaning. The band addresses a lot of issues, âstuff thatâs been on their mindsâ, without getting either preachy or screechy. They do get loud, though.
There's no beating around the bush with this album. The song names say it all. True to Pentagram style, they keep it simple while managing to create an impact.
âThis is for My Peopleâ is a shout-out to Bombay, and India! âTodayâ is a song of positivity even in the face of stark cynicism. Its also about how the odd drink helps. âRock and Rollâ: All sounds, all people, all good!
The first single of the album, âVoiceâ is a straight-up big-hook, feel-good song. A lyrical rabble-rouser, it makes you think. About asking questions and getting answers, and also about the odd footprint in a cloud. Voice was first music video release from the album and also the first time in the history of the Indian music industry that a music video will be created using video clips sent in by the fans. The song lays the foundation for the Vh1 and Nokia Shotbyu campaign.âElectricâ will be the second music video release from the album. The song talks about how weâre all in the same place at the same time, and the worlds only what weâre gonna make of it. Its globally-conscious electronica!!
The album has been released by Counter Culture Records. CCR is an independent music label that is dedicated to providing a platform for artists and bands to release their music, enabling them to reach wider audiences. CCR actively pursues new sounds and new music with the aim of giving passionate musicians a voice.
