Punk and Pop the real deal. This is not Retro
19 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Punk, POP: New Wave
The Front was born out of a number of local Miami Beach based bands.
Greg Mclaughlin and Larry Hill emerged from Tar & the Nicotines and Music of the Spheres. Randy Rush, Steve Myers, and Flynn Picardal emerged from The Probes.
The Front''s very first gig was opening up for ULTRAVOX.
With their then manager Warren Tepper they went on a 3 year spree of playing everywhere they could at both high level and low level gigs.
All along truely developing a unique punk / new wave / F U !!!! sort of style.. all their own
So The Line Up Is:
Greg McLaughlin Lead vocals, occasional synth & composition
Randy Rush Guitars, Backing vocals& composition
Steve Myers Bass, Backing vocals & composition
Flynn Picardal Guitars, Synth, Backing vocals & composition
Larry Hill Drums, Backing vocals, Lead vocals, & composition
The Front went on to open up for a number of major label acts in their short 3 year period on the radar screen. In that time they developed a cult following and were on the way to emerging as a force to be reckoned with but as John Lennon said "Life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans".
So here is the first installment of a band
that should have made it all the way.
In their short lifespan as a viable act they opened for bands such as U2, The Psychedelic Furs, The Go Go''s, Bow Wow Wow, The Missing Persons, Ultravox, The Vapors (turning Japanese) to name a few.
This record is a tribute to the Late Randy Rush
Passed away in April of 2000.
However there just might be a new Front record on the horizon one never knows.
So we release this 1st record as the essence of The Front, a tribute to Randy''s talents .
As Randy used to say a lot
"Lets Go Bongo Fury"
And for all his life he did just that .
Hope You Enjoy.
