TONS OF CHILL -

WHEN THEM TONS COME

Straight up rock meets funk meets hiphop with big vocal hooks, dynamic playing and killer song writing.  It is an original sound.  It is Tons Of Chill.  Together as a band since 2004, TOC now releases the full length record "When Them Tons Come!”  The band has gained serious steam ripping-up highly anticipated live shows in the New England and New York areas.

Some interesting (deep-insider) notes about this band and the new record:

Most of the record was written while humming melodies into their cell phones and enjoying many satisfying meals at “Arthur Treachers.”

When the band talked about making this record, they were able to agree on a certain direction...they all liked songs with strange sounds and extreme sledding.

The band members are highly influenced by the Main Theme Song to the movie, "Escape From New York" by John Carpenter.

The lectures of real estate mogul "Carlton Sheets" provided much guidance when the band needed that extra something while recording in the studio.

Tons Of Chill wanted to cover the song "Lala, La lalala" but the Smurfs bombarded them in the recording studio and told them to knock it off or else.

When a member was having trouble cutting a take, they were given final notice that this was their last opportunity to make it happen.  They were told, "Give it a go, Rickter!"

Certain members of the band were supposed to go see the rock band "Trouble" live in concert but went to the scheduled recording session instead.  This shows how dedicated they are.

Certain members did not show up at the recording session because they were trapped (not physically...but mentally) at “Arthur Treachers" restaurant.

When "Arthur Treachers" was down for renovations, band members migrated south to "Stuckey''s.”

If both “Stuckey''s” and “Arthur Treachers” were not open to service the band''s addictions, they would settle for a "Rax".

The band would horde on Wax Candy, Chuckles, Circus Peanuts and Reggie Jackson Candy Bar''s on frequent occasions for that extra hard rock edge while recording.

The day before a recording session, in order to raise their game to the highest peak, the band members would abide by the rule of being a good citizen and staying in an athletic position at all times.

Tons Of Chill almost changed their name to "Extracting the Glucose" during the making of this record.

"When in doubt, slather on out,” is the best approach when applying icing.

The band was forced to call in a "Power Strings" keyboard player to handle a 5 second musical section.  Everything was great until the band asked, “That''s nice, what''s the price?"  This same keyboard player "Dale Carnegie''d" the band by winning and influencing their minds to hire him once again the next day for a "Power Brass" line lasting about 10 seconds for twice the price.

A producer by the name of "Sweet Juices" was supposed to work with the band on a few songs but he was too busy with a project called "Burt Gick and the Hot Steam.”  There was also a problem with this producer as he is only comfortable working on songs that are about pets and in the Lydian scale.
