Singing from an early age, Amy has always followed her dreams. At 14 she began to play the guitar and it became the key to becoming a songwriter. By her 18th birthday she was living in London and seeking out her destiny - a year later she was one third of The Alice Band. Since returning home to Glasgow she has continued busking, which she discovered in her teens, and playing in the bars and acoustic venues around Glasgow whilst also appearing on more prestigious stages such as the Royal Albert Hall with Rod Stewart.
With her love of folk and rock music and an ear for a catchy melody these songs are a few of her favourites. ‘Charlevoix’ was written on a trip to America to attend the funeral of her grand mother and is the oldest song here. ‘Valkyrie’ began life as an instrumental piece written for the guitar by Dugal Gudim, a close friend of Amy''s - he asked if she would write some words and 40 minutes later they recorded the first demo. This version was recorded at Rak Studios in London some two years later.
Amy wrote ‘Moving’ most recently of all to commemorate the sale of the only family home she had known.
‘If I Could’ was written around the same time.
