MP3 Calle Debauche - Potemkin Carnival

Wacky instrumental music that is both accessible and adventurous; deadpan humor resulting in a spectacle to be reviled and worshiped.

7 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Progressive Rock, JAZZ: Jazz Fusion

Details:
Calle Debauche is a tremendous band. Their motto is "each man left standing is not sitting down." To make a long story short, three hoodlums left their favorite bar and decided to make a rock band. They mucked around, half unexplainable, half ridiculous, confused and disoriented.

Creating this music was like leaping out of a moving tank. Everything they knew had vanished all at once, and they were left exploding. about 15 months after arriving in Tucson, our young heroes finished an album in a record 1 year of intense debate, frantic note-taking, baffling laughter, and many broken bones.

Calle Debauche write songs about armageddon, extra heads, and hotdogs. They sound like a little bit of progressive rock, Children''s music, and metal, or a mix of Frank Zappa, Voivod, Uz Jsme Doma, Cardiacs, and Tortoise, except with the occasional kazoo. So be it. If you like it, please stay.

If you pick yourself up and get lost, you''ll find yourself looking forever for your familiar computers and failing that, find replacements. If you leave home behind, you will recreate it endlessly. Your geography defines you.

"To say that this stuff probably isn’t for everyone would be an understatement. For those out there that enjoy the more unusual side of music, I would highly recommend checking these guys out. This sounds like an album you could find a label like John Zorn’s Tzadik or something similar."

" Interesting and fun music, very artistic and odd. I''d even go so far as to call them a bit eccentric, yet not in the "avant" sense, as their music is cohesive and ear friendly, while being complex, sophisticated and challenging. I can think of quite a few progressive artists as I listen to this cd, Frith, Marcoer, Bubblemath, Estradasphere, Secret Chiefs, Zappa, Crimson, Koenji Hyakkei are some that come to mind. It''s quirky, frenetic and comical all in one, nothing to take too seriously, yet it is entertaining... ...this shows an original blend of odd influences that appeals to the folks that are listening a little more closer than most, and want their head to spin!"
