Crossing 13th was formed in mid 2003 out of a basic necessity for three musicians to finally have an outlet to write, play and perform truly unique and, above all, genuinely good music. Tired of the recycled and played out pop scene on MTV and the radio, Blaine Vogt, Andy Mikkelson, and Tim Sieroslawski set out on a mission to create something both music fans and fellow musicians alike could be proud of.
After years of waiting around to find their niche, these three musicians founded “Crossing 13th”. Joining last was their original Bass player, Luke Crowson, who left the band in 2007. The band (who at this point had recorded their first demo, which had moved hundreds of copies) played several shows, wrote loads of material and even gained some attention from radio play on Portland''s 105.1 “The Buzz”. The band was forced with the decision to throw in the towel or find a new bassist. Enter Jarred Venti. After posting several “wanted” flyers and waiting with no response, the band received only one email and not only found a bassist, but found the missing link to an already almost flawless project.
Keep watching these talented young men, they are just getting started. They won the “2007 Library Battle of the Bands” in Salem, and released their first, self-produced, full-length record "Superstar/Circus Clown" in April 2008.
