“I grew up attending church. In the 1980s as a teenager I began to discover a deeper and more personal relationship with Jesus. About this time Contemporary Christian Music was emerging. As I listened to artists like Michael W Smith, Amy Grant and Steven Curtis Chapman I was inspired to find my own voice and create music. I started playing the piano, singing and learning the guitar.
By the middle nineties I’d started doing Christian concerts. In 1997 I had an opportunity to record the CD ‘Surrender’ thanks to a few generous donations from my congregation where I was serving as youth pastor. The CD is a mixture of cover songs I had performed and grown to love as well as a few original tracks. The recordings have an ''unplugged'' acoustic feel, with simple instrumentation.
A special thanks to Dan Matthews at Insight Sound in Loveland, Colorado who engineered the project and later referred it to Group Publishing. Group featured three tracks from the CD for a skit called ‘Box of Stones’ in one of their publications which has created continued interest. I pray the songs will bless you as I have been blessed in performing them.”
Joe is currently serving as the worship pastor of the Sunnyvale Adventist Church in Sunnyvale, CA. He is married to Tricia and they have a three-year old son, Micah.
