Julie Wilde is a born romantic. She believes she was destined to express her romantic sensibility through the performing and visual arts. Song and dance springs from her very heritage. Her great-great-grandmother was a stage singer in London, her great-grandfather a painter and violin maker in New England, and his son a theatrical producer. Julie''s mother was a piano teacher, her father a singer and her older sister a child prodigy at the keyboard.
Julie spent her childhood in the sultry Savannah, Ga. studying classical piano, and staging (singing and dancing to) her father''s recordings of big band jazz standards and broadway musicals. She graduated from college with a Masters Degree in Music.
Julie has performed in musical theater, modern dance productions, symphonic chorales, church choirs, and jazz, folk and rock bands. Her current passion is writing and recording her own songs. In 2001, she released a self-titled CD, of original material. In 2004, her second CD, "In Love''s Red Garden", was produced and recorded in Nashville, with Julie''s music, lyrics and her singing, enhanced by some of the area''s most virtuosic musicians. Julie keeps experimenting and shifting styles and has recently written and recorded over 20 eclectic new songs waiting for compilation.
In 2007, Julie wrote "On Our Way", a song for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society''s "Light the Night Walk" which was recorded by American Idol Finalist, Stephanie Edwards, and performed at the Walks in LA, Atlanta and Savannah. Over 1000 copies of the single CD were sold with all money going to the charity. In 2008, Julie teamed up with Stephanie again, this time with her song, "Here I Am", being recorded and later premiered by Stephanie at a Roberta Flack concert. "Here I Am" most recently made it''s national debut when Stephanie sang it on an episode of "American Idol Extra".
Julie hopes to write always - capturing, re-telling and immortalizing emotion and her glimpses of life''s endless and passionate vignettes, through music.
