About Michael Beattie
Originally from Toronto, Canada; Michael Beattie has worked as an actor for over 20 years in film, television, radio and theatre as well as television and feature animation (Conan the Adventurer, T-Rex, Beverly Hills Teens, Care Bears: The Nutcracker Suite, Robocop, As Told By Ginger).
Recently, Mr. Beattie performed on-camera in 2 film projects with Madonna and her writer/director husband Guy Ritchie (Star, Swept Away). He is a veteran of hundreds of national television and radio commercials.
Based in Los Angeles, he is also a home school dad with 3 kids.
8 years ago he began a "story-time with daddy" nightly ritual.
When he began adding character voices to the stories, he was initially met with resistance: "Don't Daddy...that's a scary voice!"
He persevered however, and months later met a different resistance: "No Dad, the beaver is west country British - not cockney!!"
Little critics they had all become. What began as a Beattie family tradition is now being offered to a wider audience. The classic American novel for children, Mark Twain's The Adventures of Tom Sawyer is the inaugural narrative. We hope you enjoy it.
