Ladies and gentlemen- Hands Down is ready to rock!
Though Ryan (guitar/vocals), Mike (bass) and Allen (drums) have spent the last couple years honing their sound and craft, they have been involved in music for almost their entire lives. Ryan, according to legend, was born with a guitar in his hand. He and Mike first played together in the 90’s Ska group The Van Burens. After that project fizzeled they both went on to play with other groups: Ryan in Dalena Arms and Cowboy Communist, Mike with the Gunga River Corporation and Vivolo. Both remembered their earlier experiences, however, and looked forward to a chance to play together again. Meanwhile, in East LA, Allen, our self taught drummer, was cutting his teeth in various metal bands like Kill Factor and Full Scale Model. He eventually came across some of Ryan’s demos on the internet and decided that they needed to form a band together. Mike joined up after a chance meeting with one of Ryan’s friends got him back in touch with his old band mate. From the heavy groove sound of their early jam sessions to the more intense and upbeat songs of today, Hands Down has been neglecting their jobs, family, and personal hygenine to practice constantly and bring you the best rock music they can. Get your earplugs if you need them, because this is going to be loud!
