Over the years, Hawaiian musical artists have shared the warmth of a musical tradition that celebrates the love of family and reverence for the beauty of the land and sea. Island music is inseparable from the place of its birth, it´s innocence and sentimentality reflecting the values of a unique culture.
After six years of performing with many of the best singers and musicians in Hawaii, it was time for Keith to record some of his favorite Hawaiian songs on solo piano. Jeff Peterson(Hawaiian music Grammy Award winner), Noel Okimoto(percussion for Henry Mancini, Natalie Cole, Johnny Mathis, James Ingrim and Ray Charles) and Slyde Hyde(studio musician for Madonna, Celine Dion, Barbara Streisand, Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones and more) are just a few of the more than sixty great musicians and singers Keith performed with in Hawaii and Japan. Two of Keith´s CD´s that were recorded during his time in Hawaii won him the prestigious Hawaii Music Award in new age and country music. Scott was also musical director for the HMA´s from 2002 until 2005. His original compositions have been used in numerous jingles and TV shows originating from Hawaii. All the tunes here are Hawaiian cover songs except for ¨Waikiki¨, which was written by Keith in 2001 and features his flugelhorn.
Critics have acclaimed Keith''s interpretations not only as "A CD that rewards repeat listening," John Berger (Honolulu Star Bulletin) but also "Great Scott, we have a stellar artist awaiting induction into the galaxy of island music greats. A wonderful easy-listening ''find''." Wayne Harada (Honolulu Advertiser).
