Torndown is a Christian rock duo whose roots are in Manchester, Connecticut.
Their story begins with Tim Irish (guitars / vocals) playing in a garage band in East Hartford, Connecticut in 1999. Seeking a second guitarist, Tim was introduced to Dan Bolduc (guitars / vocals) through some friends. The two have ridden the rollercoaster of making music and developing their talents amidst the local music scene. Feeding off of each other’s musical abilities, they continued to play together over the years until 2004 when Tim’s job relocated him to Virginia. This put a halt to the duo’s creativity for a brief period.
In 2007, the same job that initially separated the two brought them back together in Connecticut. Through his wife Beth and her family, Dan found Christ. This newly-found faith gave him a renewed drive to make music. This meshed well with Tim''s ever-present beliefs and gave them both the passion to set out on this new musical adventure.
The two pondered a name for the band and came up with Torndown. It is the paragon of how God has worked in both of their lives; tearing them down, only to rebuild them stronger and renewed.
Torndown''s music has rock and pop influences. Their chord progressions blend well with the duo''s catchy vocal melodies, adding the perfect amount of seasoning to the sounds of this acoustic duo.
While they have ambitions of someday shaping Torndown into a full rock band, they are now happy writing and performing acoustically.
What sets them apart from the average rock group is their ability to offer a unique way of delivering vocals, sharing pieces of each song between the two. Created in honor of their Maker, Torndown''s music features the likes of striking harmonies and driving guitar riffs.
Torndown looks forward to a very promising future. Keep your eyes open and ears tuned in for all of this group’s latest and greatest endeavors.
