MP3 David Bourman - Voices And Footsteps
Music for solo guitar inspired by the great musicians, writers, and artists whose works I have been lucky enough to experience
7 MP3 Songs
NEW AGE: Solo Instrumental, FOLK: Fingerstyle
When I was fifteen, my high school canceled whatever meager offerings the summer school music program normally offered, leaving me facing two months of Health and Driver''s Education classes without a crumb of anything interesting left on the plate. I bought a plywood classical guitar on my own so that I''d have something to concentrate on besides videotaped lessons of how to make left turns at busy intersections. After making some initial discoveries, like the fact that the guitar needed to have strings on it and that they needed to be in tune, I began to piece together the basics of playing, until soon irritation and annoyance were no longer the only reactions my attempts at harmony were causing. Fast forward a considerable time (omitting many of the details that would just get us bogged down in trivial things), and we arrive at this recording.
Some quick information:
Voices And Footsteps 5:52
The Captain''s Dance 4:09
Gladia Solaria 9:39
The Lathe Of Heaven 4:32
Harriman''s Hornpipe 2:46
Suite For Guitar 5:02
Wave Function Blues 10:46
Total playing time 43:03
And, don''t worry, the plywood guitar has long since been replaced. Several times over.
Please note: If you have a fast internet connection, I recommend choosing the "Play All Songs (Broadband)" option when you play the music samples. The audio quality is much higher than what you get if you play the song samples individually.
