Gary Willner a native New Yorker and pheonomenal vocalist, is widely regarded as the leading and foremost proponent of the Frank Sinatra sound.
During his early career famous impresario John Hammond said of Gary''s voice, "Gary has one of the best set of "pipes" I''ve ever heard!" John Hammond was instrumental in discovering artists like Billie Holiday and Bruce Springstein.
During the 70''s Gary Willner was one of the many young men to audition as male vocalist for the Sammy Kaye Orchestra. Much to his parents disapointment he got the job! As Sammy Kaye said to Gary after hearing his voice, "My boy, you''re hired, now carry my bags."
For the following three years Gary Willner traveled extensively throughout the United States with Sammy Kaye and his Orchestra playing theaters and dance halls. Then in 1976 Gary joined the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra as Featured Vocalist. It was during this year that Gary was asked to perform at President Jimmy Carter''s Inaugural Ball in Washinton D.C.
For the past wo decades Gary has been working in Jazz and Supper clubs throughout the United States perfecting and honing his craft. After years of people saying, "You sound just like Frank Sinatra" Gary recorded an album of Sinatra classics. The sound is so close to the original, you will be very hard pressed to tell the difference! Gary''s next album will be all original songs written and performed by Gary Willner also in the Sinatra sound. These songs are so good, if Frank were here he would surely record them too!
