The Happies combine the best of the English
singer-songwriter angle with washy, emotional American indie rock and a certain whimsical, fussy, quaint, old-fashioned splash which recalls The Coral. Stratford 4, Simon & Garfunkle, and Rilo Kiley.

Details:
The Happies are:

Miles Biddulph (vocals / guitar)
Elledge Bowers (drums / keyboards)
Nathan Biddulph (bass guitar / vocals)
Kiley Mickelson (vocals / guitar)
Linwood Biddulph: (drums / keyboards / vocals)

The Happies started as a simple home recording project, but just as Pinocchio became a real boy, so did The Happies become a real band. Brothers Miles and Nathan moved to Salt Lake City and began fulfilling their aspirations to become the next Osmonds, eventually convincing their younger brother Linwood to join them in their musical splendor. Next to join The Happies was William Elledge Bowers IV (a local ninja), who Miles met in another music project.
It was a beautiful summer afternoon; the sky was blue, the grass was green, and The Happies were playing in the park. Suddenly, upon hearing the melodic harmonies of an acoustic ensemble emanating by the fountain, an unsuspecting passerby brought his bicycle to a halt. This was Ki. A very talented musician himself, Ki became not only a member of the band, but also an intricate part of The Happies' songwriting.
The Happies are an indie entity with a sound that bears a striking resemblance to the bands in the vein of Belle & Sebastian, The Shins, Grandaddy, and if The Beatles were around today. "The Happies combine the best of the English singer-songwriter angle with washy, emotional American indie rock" (Slug Magazine). They were awarded "Best Unsigned Local Band" in Salt Lake City Weekly's Best of 2005 "If We Were Really Here" is the first album to be released through Eden's Watchtower Records.
