Details:
Talented and young are often a paradoxical combination: Not true in Sean McDougal’s case. The debut album, Weatherall, from young and rising star, Sean McDougal, is a classic blend of rock, folk, and pop music that will satisfy any audiophile. The opener, “Count No One as Lost,” blissfully hits the listener with a wall of sound and instruments, echoing The Beach Boys’ classic album, Pet Sounds. Track 2, “Nothing,” takes an immediate departure as a folk tune, richly laced with harmonica and fiddle. Multiple genres are introduced throughout the album and are magnificently wrapped up with the illustrious combination of acoustic guitar, mandolin, and vocals on the closer, “Two Sisters.” Among the numerous highlights of the album, the track, “My Last Memory,” showcases Sean’s graceful falsetto, complementing it with a brilliant string section played by string master, Dennis Caplinger. And the track, “Present to Past,” smoothly mixes blue-eyed soul with a modern touch. Weatherall is a sure thing and a must have for any fan of music.
