I am David Brinkman, a singer/songwriter and poet, based in
Aberdeen, Scotland. I write love songs, tribute songs, and songs to try and make people think about important issues.
When I was a kid, I loved singing and had a good soprano voice. I started trying to write songs at the age of twelve, and eventually wrote "Queen Bee" at the age of seventeen. I started to write poetry then as well. I put a lot of effort into writing the lyrics.
With my debut, 14 track Cd Album, "From My Pen", I have written and co-written all of the songs. The style is mainly pop, blues and country. The album was recorded at the Mill Recording Studio, nearby, under the guidance of Niall Mathewson, musician, engineer, and producer. I was fortunate to work with excellent local professional musicians, with great arrangement contributions from Tara Leiper, Graeme Marshall, Edgar Gray, all from Aberdeen, and Monty Harper in Stillwater, Oklahoma, USA. Niall mixed the album, and it was mastered up in Wick by David Shearer. My thanks also to Chris Ramsay for taking the photographs, and to Jill Taylor for her superb artwork. Finally, my sincere thanks to all who worked on my project.
