Details:
Born in 2001, Austin-based housewife has weathered fatigue, illness, a thesis, a cruise, the deaths of many goldfish, and one toaster seemingly over-determined to wipe out the lives of every human living in the apartment it is housed. The result? In late August, 2003, housewife enthusiastically released their debut CD, Stretch to Fit.

Into the future
Housewife is currently playing at a variety of venues in Austin, Texas, as they begin working on new material. Below, please find a review of one show put together by the Austin, Texas bmx/skateboard outfit T1 after a show we played for them:
"Well once again we were honored with the presence of some exceptional musicians... It was cold outside the Ritz and colder in our hearts but for the grace of ROCK!!!
Heheheh...
So we blew it with the opening band - we spelled their name wrong - and we''d like to extend a sincere apology to them. We put The Howsewives on the flyer but thats not their name - its Housewife - singular not plural...
Regardless of our blunder - They were great - as if there were no resentment whatsoever for our failure. I havent seen their name around and dont know how often they play but I can say I was glad to have them play for us - and I''ll definitely go see them again. Good melodies, good strong rythms, nice lyrics, good energy... Pretty much everything you want out of Rock&Roll. A few times in their set some lyric would make me cringe with sorrow for loves long lost and bitterness unresolved... HA!!! Thats what I want on a cold ass thursday night.
A side note - it was my first time doing sound there (Bryan couldn''t make it) and this band sounded so good they made me sound good - I feel like thats saying something..."
More recently, the song Lies and Treachery was the recipient of a glowing write-up by the Austin Chronicle''s own Chris Gray in his weekly article TCB:
HOUSEWIFE, "Lies and Treachery": Snappy pop reminiscent of the Cure''s "In Between Days" that clocks in at under two minutes -- plenty of time for the hook to slide between those shoulder blades. (Stretch to Fit)
In performance news, Housewife has performed a recommended show and headlined two shows at Stubbs, as well as performing at local rock venues Room 710, The Ritz, Beerland, and Le Privilege (now The Caucus Club).
