Details:
A band with many names from Portland Oregon USA, The Yellers, The Auld Yellers, or The Old Yellers, (just to keep Disney happy), formed in 2003 when long time friends Michael Berly and Matt Voth joined forces to write some new songs and create a new perspective in music that focused on connecting with people globally in order to bring people together, change the world for the better, and have one hell of a good time doing it. They quickly added the stellar guitar playing and quality musicianship of another long time friend, Darin Joye and in short order, the three of them had created a large catalog of original songs. They gigged steadily in the Northwest USA for several years and in 2006 made their first trip to Europe playing in Ireland and the Netherlands.

The band has just completed their second CD called "On The Green", which is getting rave reviews and will be available on their tour and online at https://www.tradebit.com
It features 10 original songs and a cast of great players sitting in with The Yellers. They will be touring Europe in 2008 starting with Ireland in June in support of their new record, making new friends, bringing the music to the people, and living it up as music ambassadors to the world. They are currently shopping around for a label and management company which supports their vision of music to bring people from around the world together but in the meanwhile, they forge their own destiny and hope you like the new cd.

PRESS:

The Old Yellers [American Roots Music] are something to behold. This band isn''t just old timey, laid back, sweet country sounds of yesterday. No Sir! They are also foot stompin, rabble rousing, hootin and hollerin good time music of here and now. They have it all, great harmonies, rock and roll, tender ballads, and nothin but good times. Get yourself down to catch them if you can.
Burlingame Review, May 2006.

A roots rock band from Portland, Oregon, The Old Yellers are a talented group of musicians/songwriters that combine the stomp of a backwoods hoedown, whiskey infused honky tonk, high-energy rock and roll, and sweet ballads with solid songwriting. Their large repertoire of original music fits in perfectly with tried and true traditional songs and all the classics.
Curtis Waterbury, CitySearch, October 2007.

The Old Yellers have earned a solid reputation and represent what is great about live music. Solid vocals and harmonies, good songwriting, and diverse instrumentation gets the room up dancing, segues to fine ballads, rocks, rolls, jigs, reels, and always homes back to the honky tonk. This band simply rocks. This Americana roots rock is down-home goodness at its finest.
Root Man, Roots Rock Blog, December 2007

The Old Yellers [AMERICANA] have several things going for them. Singer/Guitarist Michael Berly who''s deep, expressive voice and gregarious presence on and offstage draws talented players and appreciative audiences alike. Musicians like Matt Voth and Darin Joye, who make music come to life in a way that is palpable to everyone who attends their impressive live shows. Great taste in band names switching from the lovable and now defunct Cornbred to a tighter, tastier ensemble known as The Old Yellers. And nowadays, if all else fails, Berly has his acupuncture practice to fall back on in case all of the above come to naught, which is unlikely. Don''t miss this band.
Jeff Rosenberg, Willamette Week, June 2007.

PORTLAND, Ore. Friday, March 17 at venues across the kingdom, McMenamins will offer live music, Irish dancing, and perhaps a bagpiper or two in celebration of St. Patricks Day. Bring the kids, friends, and family and raise a rousing cheer for ol Paddy with a toast of the seasonal Irish Stout, handcrafted using green, eco-friendly energy. Again this year, back by popular demand, The Old Yellers grace the stage mixing Irish music, Americana, great ballads, and rock and roll with original songwriting. This band of talented musicians puts on one heck of a live show every time they hit the stage. If last years show is any indication of what is to come, prepare for all manner of hullabaloo and jubilee.
