What is improvisation all about? It''s a mix of spontaneous,
musical, compositional conversations - magical interactions of ideas amongst instrumentalists and/or vocalists. It involves listening & responding while speaking from one''s own perspective. Competant musicians must have the basic musical tools/knowledge, & facility necessary to play freely + creatively w/ each other -often using little or no sheet music, e.g: One individual plays a line then someone else reacts musically- perhaps echoing or altering it - that''s the improvisational interaction! The ImprovMusicWorkshop is all about exploring the exciting world of a jam session! We take a blues, latin or jazz feel, or that of almost any musical genre, & explore the improvisational intricacies involved !
