Details:
Following in the tradition of a classic “Power Trio,” Mint Jam was formed in 2004. Playing guitar driven Rock and Blues which is polished, professional and above all, MUSICAL, they have a wide appeal, ranging from their peers to the “50 and up” crowd.
The trio plays covers from Hendrix, Zeppelin, Trower, Clapton and Vaughan, along with originals that are musically mature and developed from the classics. Their songs “Disappearing “ and “Icicles” recently made it into the final rounds of judging for the 2007 Billboard Song Contest.
Mint Jam is led by guitarist/vocalist/composer Gabe Condon. He is backed by solid percussion from drummer Ray DeSalvo. Ray has been trained in the art of “old school rock” by his father/drummer Marc DeSalvo-who played in the band “Blue Axis” in the 1980’s. Gabe’s brother, bassist Matthew Condon, provides the punchy and defining bottom end.
Exhibiting skills beyond his years, Gabe is bringing back the art of the guitar solo to the younger generation. Influenced by the masters, he exhibits his own inventiveness, incorporating his rock, blues, and jazz sensibilities into each jaw dropping performance. In June 2008 he received an Outstanding Performance Award from Downbeat Magazine in the Rock/Pop/Blues category. He has been onstage with artists such as Phil Keaggy, The Campbell Brothers, Jimi Highsmith Jr., Russell Malone and members of Prime Time Funk.
Mint Jam has played at venues around the Upstate New York area. They are the classic of the future! Make sure you can say you were there when they made their start!
