Young people, and their life-experiences inspire Bobby Bishop''s music. Over the past 11 years, Bobby has invested his life into urban youth programs in the city of Lynn, Massachusetts. He has been so inspired by these experiences that he has put them to music. A long-time fan of Hip-Hop, Bobby has realized the every-day content youth are being fed is not what he desires to portray, but rather a message of hope in God.
Currently working with youth as a social worker and youth mentor in Lynn, Bobby has this full length debut album, entitled The Hip-Hop Alternative (Community''s Call) in 2002. The CD takes the listener through his experiences with young people, as he lays his heart on the table. At a time when the world is embracing messages of hope and healing, this solo release will offer a piece of Hip-Hop that youth can embrace as their own.
The Hip-hop Alternative has a little something for every listener. What''s the Alternative? is an underground ''banger'' and effectively introduces this record. A Song for Amy is a thought-out, heart-felt description of a young person who fell victim to rape. Today is a feel-good song guaranteed to have the listener singing along. All three songs have recently been charted on the Noize Charts (https://www.tradebit.com) and the Sphere Charts (https://www.tradebit.com). A Song for Amy peaked at #4 on the Noize Charts (October, 2002).
