Ivan Pryor Burnett III a native of Chicago, who roots extend all the way to Jamaica.
Ivan is originally from the south side of Chicago and as a young man of 19 years of age, he became a father. Ivan joined the US Army in hopes to better care for his daughter.
His Grandfather was from Kingston Jamaica and his Grandmother Saint Thomas both were his mother''s parents. Ivan passion for writing came to him as a young Teen.
Ivan wrote his first manual script at the age of 13 and his first short story (The coldest water and the warmest seat).
When Ivan was asked, if he wanted to say something about his Poetry what would it be, he stated.
Well, I guess I would start like this.
To Whom It May Concern or Affect:
I write these poems because I like to reach people before they are caught up in drugs, gang violence or just the negative side of life. There are far to many who feel they have to control other peoples lives, with drugs, violence or what ever else they can think of whether it is right or wrong.
They cannot seem to take control of their own lives, so they look for other people''s weaknesses and seek to control and or destroy them. We are living in a society where some people feel they have the right to judge who lives or die.
Who but the Lord has that right to decide, "not you or I".
Many people in the world today have sinister minds they like to play the role of God.
If you feel like that is you, then create us a Heaven and Earth then solve all of the worlds pain and suffering.
My personal Philosophy is.
All People Have A Gift
And When We Learn To Put All Of Our Gift Together
Life Will Become A Treasure For Every One.
