Born and educated in Scotland, now living in New York State, Puja Thomson is a spiritual counselor, healing facilitator, educator and minister of natural healing of the Healing Light Center Church, (founded by the Reverend Rosalyn L. Bruyere).
Puja Thomson developed the Roots & Wings concept, audio and workbook from more than thirty years’ experience as a therapist and ally for those in transition. With a love of nature and an expanded awareness attained from living in different cultures, she has worked both in the UK and USA developing a unique blend of dynamic techniques to transform old patterns and release blocked energy.*
Puja believes that, to meet the challenges of survival, we must carry forward the best of all our roots. To support such a change, she developed a holistic, transformational therapy practice, Roots & Wings, which honors the interconnectedness of the body, mind, emotions, and spirit and encourages people to nourish their roots, and find their wings.
In her debut CD, Puja evokes the sacred imagery of nature to help you heal your past, renew and re-direct your life. Her calm, resonant Scottish voice soars with Richard Shulman’s inspired music, guiding you as you discover the transformative power in your own roots and wings.
To strengthen and internalize the regenerative effects of the guided imagery and meditations, Puja has created a Roots & Wings companion workbook. This inspiring program, with personal response pages, questions for reflection and creative insights, will guide you to gently connect with your past and bravely let go, welcoming the future. The workbook may be purchased separately, or in combination with the CD for a reduced rate. Puja Thomson is also author of the award-winning book, After Shock: From Cancer Diagnosis to Healing—a step-by-step guide to help you navigate your way. Both books are available through online bookstores.
Puja Thomson has been fed by many roots. From the Old World of her youth she learned much from its history, lineage and culture about the importance of the search for freedom. From the Ancient Celtic world she experienced interdependence with all of nature''s great circle of life, including delight in song, poetry, imagination and mystery. In the exotic world of India and Sri Lanka she was nourished by the gifts of simplicity—a smile, a flower, life itself. There she was greatly influenced by meditating in the energy field of the spiritual master, Osho. Finally, arriving in what was for her the New World of North America, Puja learned to hitch her wagon to a star, and remain ever open to possibility.
*Before coming to the States, Puja worked as an educator and training specialist, through institutions in Scotland such as the University of Edinburgh. She was a catalyst for change at local, regional and national levels in the fields of juvenile justice and the interdisciplinary professional training of teachers, social workers and community workers.
