James R. Daniels is a gospel singer, originally from Chicago, IL, home of gospel music legends, The Tommies, Chicago Mass, Albertina Walker, The Staple Singers, Rosetta Tharpe, James Cleveland and many more. The sites and sounds of the Chicago music scene have played an influential role in the development of James. While his mother attended many different concerts to see the local and big name acts in Chicago, she made sure to involve James and his brother in many church activities at Trinity United Church of Christ under the leadership of Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. James loves Chicago and believes that there is no city like it in the world. The great singing, not to mention the good food, are hard to live without.
James believes that the Lord placed a calling on his life to minister to God''s people through song. He is dedicated and remains obedient to ministering to those who don''t know Christ as their Savior or to those who simply need a word from the Lord.
James has sung and performed in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area with various gospel groups. He also formed the group, New Found Praise. New Found Praise has been dedicated to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ through song and deed for the last two years.
James attended Virginia State University. He currently lives in Northern, VA with his lovely wife, Patrina and their two sons, James and Kendall. The Daniel''s Family currently attends Heritage Fellowship United Church of Christ under the leadership of Rev. Norman A. Tate.
James'' personal testimony is, "We have a wonderful opportunity everyday to be ministers of the Gospel and we don''t know what a word from God will do to those around us. We have power. God gave it to us. Death and Life are in the power of the tongue; let''s use it responsibly. It is my sincerest hope that God will use me in such away that people will come to know Him in a more personal way. Whether it is on a national or local level, I want to take what God has given me and give it back to His people. That for me is the real blessing... The gift is in giving God and His people my very best."
