Jerry Dean Lester is a singer/songwriter/producer who resides in Edison, New Jersey, and is a veteran of numerous studio sessions and musical collaborations. His debut Marjerlest Music Group label CD, "Dearly Beloved," is a soul-stirring musical journey of the life of Jesus Christ. Jerry Dean fuses infectious dance hooks, head-bobbing backbeats and syncopated rap performances in such selections as "Light of the World" and "Always," featuring South Jersey avant-garde hip-hop artist Black Rook. Jerry Dean also ministers to the soul in the praise and worship anthems "Forgiveness," "Your Love Is a Blessing" and the title track. His multi-octave vocal performances soar on each selection, making "Dearly Beloved" a labor of love that expresses deep faith and enormous conviction; it is indeed "music with a message."
Jerry Dean Lester is also a songwriter and producer in such secular music venues as the 1990s PBS eclectic music documentary "Rap to Rock." He released his critically acclaimed debut CD, "Tomorrow," on the Philadelphia-based indie label Surprize Records in 1995. Jerry Dean has also appeared in numerous theatrical productions, including the Dunbar Repertory Company (of Monmouth County, New Jersey) productions of August Wilson''s "Seven Guitars" and Athol Fugard''s "My Children My Africa."
"Dearly Beloved" was written, produced and performed by Jerry Dean Lester, except for "Water," composed by ''70s funk bandleader/bassist Larry Graham of Graham Central Station. "Dearly Beloved" was recorded in the state-of-the-art digital domain using Pro-Tools and Digital Performer music production software.
