Joao Erbetta is a Brazilian guitar player, composer and producer living in Washington D.C. since 2006.
"The L.A Sessions", recorded with legendary Pete Curry on Drums is his latest release.

Erbetta’s creations mix Brazilian and Latin American heritage with American rythms, like rockabilly, country and space age sounds, creating a fresh and original style that Guitar Player magazine classified it as a mix of “experimentalism and good ideas” (Guitar Player Brazil, March, 2007).

"The L.A. Session" was recorded in Los Angeles with Pete Curry (drums) and Richard D''Andrea (bass). No to overdubs, yes to vintage microphones and, of course, a tape machine. All new songs and a smoking version of "Tico-Tico", a Zequinha de Abreu''s classic.

Last year, his surf punk country power trio Los Pirata released its second CD called “La Revuelta”, following 2003 “En Una Onda Neopunque”. In this Tarantino style-Tequila project, Erbetta becomes “Paco Garcia”, the lead singer of this rock band that puts together crazy lyrics that mix Portuguese and Spanish with a punk attitude.
“Think tequila, surf music, punk, blues, country, fifties rock, Latin music, Pixies and Beatles, mix everything in the blender and you’ll have the coolest most insane trio in Brazil”, says Regis Tadeu, from Cover Guitarra Magazine.

Joao Erbetta has produced concerts, such as “Violeiros and Guitarristas” in 2004, a project mixing traditional Brazilian acoustic guitar players such as Os Mutantes iconic guitar player Sergio Dias with heavy metal star Andreas Kisser from Sepultura.

“A good sense of melody with interesting concepts. One of the few guitarists who uses the hand tremolo right”
Del Casher, American guitarist and the Wah Wah effect creator.
