INTERMEDIATE / ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE. A video tutorial focused on the 12-bar harmonica solo from Sonny Boy Williamsons most famous composition, Help Me. Transcribed and arranged by Adam Gussow of Satan and Adam.
Its hard to overstate the importance of this solo, and this song. Its not just a top-25 desert-island cut for blues harp players around the world, but its arguably the one blues harp classic that other blues players--guitarists, vocalists, you name it--all know. It comes up at virtually every jam session. It is part of the blues worlds common stock.
Technical challenges include brisk triplets in a 3-against-2 rhythm; warbles; staccato (chuck-chuck) chording; and a bit of tricky timing. This video takes you inside the guts of Sonny Boys style.

Adam�s video takes the all painfull hunting and pecking to find the right notes out of the equation right from the off.
He breaks the 12 bar solo down, bar by bar and note by note. Also giving a great insight into his own techniques when going through the woodshed process.
Small bite size practice routines are shown and make it very simple to work on parts of the solo before trying to build it all back together into the finished article.

I progressed more in two days with this lesson than I have in the last 3 years of struggling and frustration.
