Sexcop’s songs take on sex, love, and flying saucers in grand fashion, like epic movies condensed into three and a half minutes of catchy rock and roll. Known for their highly entertaining shows, Sexcop features songwriter Josh McIlvain on vocals and guitar and Alec Cumming on bass and harmonies, along with special guest Sam McIlvain on solo guitar. The music draws the gamut of American sounds, from Elvis to Camper Van Beethoven, from Lloyd Price to the Beach Boys. “Playful and original,” wrote Origivation of Sexcop’s CD Island of Dreams, the result of the original Sexcop collaboration between Josh McIlvain and the late, great Philadelphia musician Bruce Langfeld. “The songs are sophisticated, dramatic and smart, with lyrics to match.” Sexcop’s second album, The Supermodel Who Loved Me, is in production in New York City.
